It unlocks after you defeat the S'kaa mothership and watch the ending cutscenes. It unlocks after you investigate the two ship wrecks on Koro and acquire the key to the Permakin system. After you destroy the Thul cruiser that annihilated Hornblower and visit a trade station there will be a cutscene and the achievement unlocks. Once the fight is over the achievement unlocks. After you first meet Hornblower you have to support him in the fight against some pirates. Any achievements that you still miss after the conclusion of the story can then be unlocked. Once you finish the main story you can continue playing the game and free roam in the Darkstar galaxy.

If you get stuck in the story or a side quest you can use the guides for the PC version available on e.g. Darkstar One: Broken Alliance is the same game that was released as Darkstar One four years ago on the PC. Most of them you can accept and solve on the first planet when you enter a new galaxy. Side quests are in the trade stations, when available they are on the bottom right of the menu. It is either by flying to one of the planets nearby or you have to solve a side quest to receive the key to the hidden system.
If a planet is marked with a "?" on your star map, you still have to discover it. Reputation decreases over time, so best is to work on the selected reputation until it’s maxed out Do not start the Hornblower story missions with a high/maxed-out reputation as a pirate as this will cause problems/glitches in the game that prevent you from progressing and you might end up having to reload an earlier save.
Darkstar one pc mods upgrade#
To obtain the two missable achievements make sure that you have enough upgrade points to have your hull at level 10 and your wings at level 7 at one point in your game to be able to equip 5 turrets and bows respectively. Theoretically the ship’s hull, wings and engine can be raised to level 10. When you upgrade your ship you have altogether 20 upgrade points to distribute in the game. Use the Planet Guide to keep track of your progress. The game only requires minimal backtracking so it is a great way to minimize the time you need to 1000. Before you leave a galaxy solve all side quests, visit all trade stations, collect all artifacts, liberate all planets and eliminate the pirate gangs in the system.
